Our Long Dog Zipper uses a lightweight fleece, making it ideal for those in between temperatures when your dachshund needs an extra layer without the warmth or bulk of a heavier winter coat. Can I attach a lead directly to the D rings?

Yes. That’s exactly what they’re designed for. The double D rings are reinforced for direct lead attachment, so for everyday walks you can clip on your lead and go.

If your dachshund is a particularly strong puller, lunges or is reactive on lead, we recommend using a traditional harness or a collar for additional security and control.

Is the Long Dog Zipper suitable for dachshunds who don’t like clothes going over their head?

Absolutely. Nothing needs to go over their head. Your dachshund simply steps their front legs into the fleece before you secure the adjustable Velcro neck and zip it along their back. It’s a particularly handy option for sausages who aren’t fans of traditional overhead jumpers and coats.

Yes. Pop it in the washing machine at 30°C with the zip and Velcro closed. A mesh laundry bag or pillowcase will help protect the fastenings, and we recommend allowing your fleece to air dry naturally.
