"Should I use a crate for my puppy?"
Many Dachshunds can struggle with separation anxiety. But sometimes using a dog crate can be a game-changer in supporting your furry friend. It's like their own little den where they can feel safe and snug while you're out running errands or working. "Does crate rest help with IVDD?"
Sadly 1 out of 4 Dachshunds are estimated to suffer with IVDD. Following injury, Vets usually recommend 'crate rest' for up to 10 weeks to help with the recovery. Whilst we hope you are never in this position, it is always a good idea to ensure your dachshund is content with being in a crate.
Statistics show that after completing crate rest, 85% of Dachshunds diagnosed with IVDD grades 1 to 4 recovered between 75% to 100% of their full function.
